BREAKING NEWS! SOUTHERN GOVERNORS TO SUBMIT RESOLUTIONS TO BUHARI

The Southern governors, it is believed have resolved to meet with President Muhammadu Buhari once he returns from after France. A reliable source in the Southern Governors’ Forum who does not want their names published in the news media told some journalists that “The forum would definitely meet with the President, but the time the meeting will hold has not been revealed by them. But it is sure that the meeting with the President will hold.”

Recall that governors in the 17 states of Southern Nigeria had on Tuesday last week held a four-hour meeting in Asaba, Delta State. At the end of the governors’ meeting, a 12-point resolutions were released to the general public. The governors, led by one of their colleagues, the governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu said, “We observe that the incursion of armed herders, criminals and bandits into the southern part of the country has presented a severe security challenge such that citizens are not able to live their normal lives, including pursuing various productive activities, leading to a threat to food supply and general security. Consequently, the meeting resolved that open grazing of cattle be banned across Southern Nigeria.”

Since the Southern Governors meeting in Asaba, their resolutions have been generating interests, comments and commentaries from across the nation. Citizens from the Southern Nigerians have strongly commended the governors for the bold move and urge them not to back down in the face of negative criticism coming from Northerners.
